As it turns out, things are cooperating nicely with framebuffer objects. In the following example the plot is drawn to some FBO, the later one rotating independently [driven by QML code taken from the Qt 5.4. examples].
Traits3D runs on Android with OpenGL ES 3 now. That makes the 3rd OS, following Windows and Linux.
And it's touch-sensitive yet.
