Fife-Finger Exercises (Markdown, ReST, AsciiDoc)

All input formats have different strengths and weaknesses. The examples in this article test the most used features of this blog.

Verdict: After adding missing abilities by extensions (attribute lists, markdown includes) , simple Markdown (.md) is sufficient for most day-to-day tasks. Some visual differences between the formats also remain, as the associated styles are difficult to configure (e.g. footnotes). AsciiDoc in particular - not being a supported core markup language, but added by plugin - needs its own infrastructure for many aspects (even KaTeX support). This also adds complexity and differences.
